Pickup only: Saturday, October 31st, 12 to 4 PM | Bryant Street Market, Washington, DC
You’ll smell marigolds before you see them. For us, the earthy scent and bright hue are synonymous with Día de los Muertos, as nostalgic as a grandmother’s ofrenda in early November. Marigolds, or cempasúchil, have been used to honor the dead in Mexico for centuries, long before the Spanish arrived, and their color and fragrance are traditionally said to guide souls home.
Each bouquet pairs full marigolds with traditional flowers that have long had a place on altars, hand-tied with care and ready to set beside your candles and photographs. This year, we’re remembering all of our loved ones, and those lost to senseless violence in our communities and in our home countries.
Pickup Only: Saturday, October 31st, between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM at the Día de los Muertos block party hosted by Taqueria Habanero and Alegria Cocktail Bar. Walking up? We’ll have limited $10 marigold mini bouquets at our vendor table until they sell out.
